塾生の国語は、9割超の得点率を得た生徒がいました。塾のやり方について来られた結果です。塾としての課題は、塾のやり方という一律のやり方ではなく、その生徒に合致したやり方を提供できることです。英語も同じですが、「こうすればできるようになる」というやり方や、それに基づく学習量は、長年の経験から見えますが、どうしても、その提示する方法が、掴めた生徒と掴めなかった生徒がいる。それは悪いことではなく、一人ひとり感じ方や捉え方が違うという事実です。塾としては、掴み方の前に、その子その子が掴んでいるものを丁寧に見て、ほどくこと。これが、これからのOSアカデミアの課題です。

さて、無事に共通テストを終えられた生徒の皆さん、お疲れ様でした。年に１回、同じ日に、同じ試験を受けるというあり方には疑問もありますが、現行のシステムで大学を志すのであれば、避けて通れない道となっています。（推薦など、避け方はないことはありませんが）。そして、この山を目指して頑張った高校生は、学力以上に人間として鍛えられることが多いように思われます。ここからさらに、国公立の二次試験、そして前期で仮にだめでも、後期試験まで粘れる人は、本当に人としての器が一回り成長するほどのものを感じさせられます。

本当の勝負はここからです。共通テストで良い結果だった人は奢らず、悪い結果だった人も動揺せず、そして、予備校などが出す合否ラインを冷静ににらみつつ、一方で、自分の気持ちを大切にしながら、二次試験に挑んでいただきたいと思います。ここから先は、精神的な勝負になります。自分の弱さと向き合う場面も出てくると思います。弱さに向かいきれず負けてしまう人もいれば、飛躍する人もいます。そして、いずれにしても、後期まで入れるとあと２か月間を踏ん張る経験は、人生でそうそう経験のできない貴重な時間です。最後まで体調に留意し、しっかりと睡眠をとりながら全力を尽くしてください。

“Great job on the Common Test.”

Some of our students scored over 90% in Japanese(Kokugo).
That’s the result of sticking with the way we do things at the academy.

That said, our real challenge as a school is this:
not offering just one fixed method, but finding the right approach for each individual student.

The same is true for English.
From years of experience, we do have a general sense of what tends to work and how much study is usually needed.
But no matter how carefully we explain things, some students grasp it quickly, and others don’t.
That’s not a bad thing at all.
It simply reflects the fact that everyone feels, understands, and processes things differently.

So our task is not just to teach how to grasp something,
but first to carefully look at what each student is already holding onto,
and gently untangle it together.
That is the challenge OS Academia will continue to work on.

Now, to all of you who have safely made it through the Common Test—well done.

There are valid questions about a system where everyone takes the same exam on the same day once a year.
Still, if you’re aiming for university under the current system, this is a path you can’t really avoid
(though there are some alternative routes, like recommendations).

Students who worked hard toward this exam often grow not only academically, but also as people.
Those who go on to face the national university second-stage exams,
and even keep going to the late-stage exams if things don’t work out at first,
often show a noticeable growth in their inner strength and resilience.

The real test begins now.

If your Common Test results were good, stay humble.
If they weren’t what you hoped for, don’t panic.
Look calmly at the pass/fail prediction lines published by prep schools,
but at the same time, don’t lose sight of your own feelings as you prepare for the next exams.

From here on, it becomes a mental challenge.
You may have to face your own weaknesses.
Some people lose heart when that happens.
Others use it as a turning point and grow.

Either way, if you make it all the way to the late-stage exams,
pushing through these final two months will be a rare and valuable experience in your life.

Please take care of your health, get enough sleep,
and give it everything you have until the very end.
